Mr. Åkermarck specializes in M&A and competition law as well as in life sciences. He heads the firm's Life Sciences practice group and is a member of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions practice area and Competition & Public Procurement practice group. He assists clients in structuring, negotiating and implementing various types of corporate transactions on a Finnish, Nordic and international level. He also advises on general corporate law matters, including corporate governance, and he is a board member or secretary to the board of some internationally owned Finnish companies.

Prior to joining Dittmar & Indrenius in 2008, Mr. Åkermarck practiced since 1988 at one of the largest Finnish law firms, serving for eleven years as a partner. Mr. Åkermarck has gained experience from working with Coudert Brothers in Brussels in 1996.

Mr. Åkermarck is a member of several professional organisations, including the Finnish Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the Finnish Association of Competition Law.
