Focus on international arbitration and commercial litigation.
Heidi Yildiz is known for her extensive experience on complex and high-value international arbitration disputes, both of a private and public law nature.
She is dual qualified and admitted to practise both as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an attorney in Finland. Heidi’s practice benefits from her profound and in-depth knowledge of both civil and common law principles, gained whilst practising international arbitration for several years in both London and Helsinki. She has also gained vast commercial litigation experience both from English and Finnish courts.
Heidi acts both as counsel and arbitrator in commercial arbitration proceedings. As a counsel, Heidi has represented a broad range of clients across a range of different industry sectors in institutional arbitrations conducted under the ICC, LCIA, DIS, FAI, UNCITRAL and PCA Rules as well as ad hoc arbitrations, governed by a variety of substantive and procedural laws. Most recently, she co-led the D&I team that successfully represented Fonecta in arbitration proceedings concerning Fonecta’s right to redirect traffic from a web address owned by Eniro to fonecta.fi.
Heidi’s public international law experience includes working as part of the WilmerHale team that successfully represented SPLM/A in the ground-breaking Abyei boundary delimitation proceedings against the Government of Sudan conducted under the auspices of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.
Heidi trained as a solicitor in the London office of WilmerHale, where upon qualification she practised international arbitration until she joined Dittmar & Indrenius in 2011. She has previously also worked in the International Arbitration Department at Herbert Smith Freehills LLP in London.
