Kari Lautjärvi is known for his long-standing experience in finance and capital markets, especially on mezzanine finance instruments. In addition to his finance and transactional work he advises board members, managing directors and chief legal counsels of major Finnish companies on corporate advisory and CSR matters. He also acts as an arbitrator both in domestic and international arbitral proceedings.

Kari Lautjärvi is an active spokesperson for pro bono activities in the Finnish legal market. He is experienced chairman of boards and general meetings. Currently he is the Chairman of the Board of the Finnish Bar Association’s Foundation. He is also Board Member of D&I’s pro bono partner Crisis Management Initiative (CMI), founded by Nobel Peace Prize Winner Martti Ahtisaari, former President of the Republic of Finland.

Kari Lautjärvi has been awarded the Finnish honorary title Laamanni (Lagman) by the President of the Republic of Finland in 2017.
