Finland was an active jurisdiction for competition law damages claims but has recently seen no new cases. At the same time, such cases have become increasingly common in other European jurisdictions, particularly in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

In the UK, opt-out class actions and third-party funding have been a game changer; there are currently dozens of pending class actions, some with claims in the billions. This presents companies with both new risks and opportunities.

Jessica Steele from Freshfields’ London office and Toni Kalliokoski from Dittmar & Indrenius will share their insights on the latest developments.

  • Why are there currently no competition law damages cases in Finland and could that change?
  • What is driving the growth of cases in the UK?
  • What are the opportunities and risks for Finnish companies operating abroad, such as in the UK?

The webinar will be held in English.
