SICORE’s acquisition of an ultra-prime logistics terminal at Helsinki Airport
We advised our long-standing client, SICORE Real Assets, in acquiring a newly developed ultra-prime logistics terminal at Helsinki Airport from Urban Partners (previously NREP) and Pontos Group.
The approximately 15,000 square metre state-of-the-art logistics terminal, which became operational in summer 2025, has been leased in its entirety to DHL Express on a long-term lease. It serves as DHL’s principal express delivery facility in Finland and is capable of processing over 6,000 parcels hourly. The terminal incorporates advanced sustainability features, including geothermal heating and solar energy systems, and targets LEED Platinum and BREEAM In-Use Excellent certifications. The airside location allows DHL aeroplanes to taxi directly from the runway to the terminal, and the excellent motorway connections of this unique asset mean that around 60% of the Finnish population can be reached within a three-hour drive.
This significant acquisition strengthens SICORE’s growing European logistics portfolio, with the asset’s direct airport location, modern technical specifications and impressive ESG credentials being an ideal fit for SICORE’s long-term acquisition profile. It is also noteworthy from a wider market perspective, as it marks the resumption of European core capital investment in Finnish real estate.
