As the Finnish real estate market shows clear signs of recovery this fall, we’re pleased to announce that Counsel Tuomas Tiensuu has been appointed new Head of our Real Estate service area.
Market activity and opportunities in 2025
Following the pickup in transactional activity across the Nordic and wider European markets in 2024, the Finnish real estate market is expected to further align with this upward trend throughout 2025. Social infrastructure, residential and retail assets have been amongst the most sought after for by investors during the past 12 months, and we have seen especially Swedish investors beginning to re-enter the Finnish market after two relatively quiet years.
Our most recent work has particularly focused on the forestry sector, where we have developed deep sector expertise through advising both international and regional clients in their forest investments in Finland. For example, we recently advised MEAG in acquiring two Finnish forestland portfolios.
New leadership and strengthened team
We’re delighted to announce that Tuomas Tiensuu has been appointed Counsel and new Head of Dittmar & Indrenius’ Real Estate practice. Tuomas brings extensive international experience, having completed a LLM degree at Columbia Law School in the United States and previously worked at leading German law firm Hengeler Mueller. He is a seasoned transactional lawyer with an excellent track record in both portfolio and large single asset real estate transactions as well as M&A transactions with a focus on energy, natural resources and green transition projects and businesses. Clients and colleagues appreciate Tuomas’ strong project management skills, commercial acumen and commitment to providing exceptional client service.
Our experienced Counsel Antti Aaltonen will continue to play a pivotal role in our Real Estate practice, ensuring seamless continuity while leveraging his extensive expertise across all real estate and construction matters. This collaboration combines international perspective with deep local market knowledge, reflecting our continued investment in delivering the highest level of service and availability.
