We successfully defended Tampereen Aluetaksi Oy, one of the largest taxi dispatch centers in Finland, in the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s ongoing competition infringement investigation on the Finnish taxi market. Tampereen Aluetaksi was the biggest defendant in the case.

On 3 June 2020, the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (the “FCCA”) confirmed in its decision that it has closed its investigation regarding our client. The case relates to the recent significant changes in the legal landscape opening the taxi market to competition. The FCCA has shown considerable interest towards the taxi market which is evidenced by its frequent press releases and public statements prior to and after the opening of the market to competition. This case is the first infringement investigation by the FCCA with regard to the functioning of the taxi market in the new legal landscape.
