Quantum technology is an emerging technology that is expected to have a revolutionary impact on various fields, from medicine to logistics and from process optimisation to data transfers and encryption. While the development and adoption of quantum technology is expected to hold significant potential, it also calls for risk preparedness. One particular threat is the potential misuse of quantum computers’ considerable computing power, which could allow breaking of encryption algorithms currently in use. This requires cyber security risk management to be updated for the quantum era.
We are happy to announce that Mark Falcon (General Counsel, IQM) and Antti Nyqvist (Chief of Preparedness, General secretary of Digipool) are joining us as speakers, and they will be sharing their expert views on potential of and preparedness for quantum technology.
With Mark and Antti, we will explore, inter alia, the following key topics:
- What a lawyer needs to know about quantum technology and its transformative potential?
- How is the EU preparing for quantum era?
- What kind of cybersecurity implications will quantum technology have?
- How should organisations prepare for the quantum era?
