Anna Haapanen focuses on technology transactions, complex IP and ICT-intensive contracts, negotiations and disputes, as well as data assets and intellectual property licensing, with special expertise in free and open-source software.

She is recognized as one of the leading technology lawyers with international education and multijurisdictional work experience. She is dual-licensed attorney admitted to both the Finnish Bar and the New York Bar and has practiced law in Finland, Sweden and the United States. She has earned Doctor of Laws degree in intellectual property laws and advises clients with both non-contentious and contentious technology, IP and data intensive assignments also within the highly regulated fields such as health tech and fintech.

Anna Haapanen is Chair of the International Technology Law Association’s (ITechLaw) Technology Sourcing Committee as well as former President of the International Federation of Computer Law Associations (IFCLA) and former Chairman of the Finnish IT Law Association. She has also served at the Delegation of the Finnish Bar Association, the highest decision-making body of the Finnish Bar Association.

Anna Haapanen has extensive legal expertise across the technology sector, including notable visiting lawyer positions at prominent tech companies such as Supercell, Accenture, Nokia, and Comptel.
