We advised SL Capital Partners in its acquisition of Gasum’s local gas distribution network, the largest gas DSO in Finland, comprising Gasum Paikallisjakelu Oy and Helsingin Kaupunkikaasu Oy.
We acted as sole legal advisor to SL Capital Partners in the transaction, which was the first major transaction in the natural gas distribution market in Finland. Significant legal regulatory issues relating to the Finnish energy authority’s then pending review for the new regulatory period (commencing 2016) and the contemplated opening up of the natural gas market in Finland. The transaction involved carving out of Gasum’s local gas distribution network business to a stand-alone operative entity.
